A government pleader here issued a notice to CIDCO (City and Industrial Development Corporation) for non-payment of his fees of a whopping Rs 20 lakh.

Additional public prosecutor and assistant government pleader Buleshwar Hinge slapped a notice to CIDCO under section 80 of CPC (Civil procedure code) last week for non-payment of his fees in various land acquisition cases where he appeared on behalf of CIDCO.

In the notice, Hinge said that he appeared in several land references, including land acquisition matters of CIDCO, that dated from 1986 to 1988.

On October 31, 2009, Special Land acquisition officer of Thane had directed CIDCO to pay a fee of Rs 20,58,640 to Hinge.

However, Hinge till date has received no payment from CIDCO, despite a reminder being sent to the corporation in November 2013.

"I have appeared for CIDCO in many land acquisition related cases. My fee is due since October 2009. Despite sending the letter of Thane deputy collector and special land acquisition officer, CIDCO did not respond. Hence, I have to send a notice to them," Hinge told PTI.

He alleged that CIDCO was indifferent towards those who work with them and in the interest of the body.
