Seeking to rebut the Opposition charges of mis-governance in the last three years, Chief Minister Vasundhra Raje today asserted that her government's works far exceeded those of Congress during their entire term.
Vasundhara made the assertion while urging all legislators to join in the government's efforts to develop Rajasthan, quoting Henry Ford, "Coming together is a beginning, keeping together is progress, working together is success."
In her reply to the debate on the motion of thanks to the Governor's address, the chief minister claimed that her government has done much more compared to the work done by Congress during its last tenure.
"We have done tremendous work even in constituencies of Congress satraps. Be it providing safe drinking water, encouragement to tribals, construction of new roads, the government's work is visible on ground," she said.
Accusing the previous government of merely announcing projects which never saw the light of the day, the chief minister said, "We are not in the habit of making announcements and leaving them on paper."
"We work every year and make efforts to realise the announcements," she said enlisting a slew of her achievements including rise of state's per capita income of Rs Rs 27,000 in 2013-14 to Rs 57,000 in 2015-16, which she termed as "an example of development."
Replying to opposition remark in poor power scenario, Raje said her government had inherited a huge debt burden of nearly Rs 80,000 crore left by the Congress and added that "Rajasthan today is the only state to provide maximum subsidy on power."
We have given Rs 24,000 crore subsidy in three years whereas Congress had given Rs 9,000 crore in its last five years of rule," she said.
She heaped a wholesome praise on her government's performance in executing its flagship schemes like Bhamashah Yojana, Jal Swavlamban Yojana and e-governance.
Prior to chief minister's address, Leader of Opposition Rameshwar Dudi had launched a scathing attack on the three years of the BJP rule saying it was "marred with corruption, crime and controversy."
Dudi sought to confront government alleging spiralling rise of crime against women and heinous crimes like murders, and said that the government has broken the back of farmers, youths and small businessman due to demonetisation.
"Farmers have been protesting against the power tariff for the last several days."
Commenting on the last three budgets of the BJP government, Dudi alleged that all announcements have remained on papers.
