The National Democratic Alliance government's flagship programmes like Swachh Bharat Mission, Digital India and Green Energy were today showcased at the Rajpath during the 67th Republic Day celebrations.
Though the duration of the parade was curtailed to 90 minutes, a key focus was on the government's mega schemes like Namami Gange, on solar and wind power and Digital India.
The tableau with the theme of "Megawatt to Gigawatt -- Making the sun brighter, even at night" promoting renewable energy for environment protection was showcased by the new and renewable energy ministry.

Railways have installed solar panels on the roftops of several stations, including Katra, while going ahead with the wind power project in Rajasthan.
Based on the theme of Swachh Bharat, the tableau of drinking water and sanitation ministry focused on action plan to bring about total cleanliness in the country through improved sanitation and by developing hygienic behavior among the people.
The government had launched the Swachchh Bharat Mission on October 2, 2014, to accelerate efforts to achieve universal sanitation coverage, improve cleanliness and eliminate open defecation in India, targeted to be achieved by October 2, 2019.
The tableau of communication and information technology ministry showcased the projected achievements of its ambitious project -- Digital India, aiming to transform the country into a digitally empowered society and knowledge economy.
The Digital India project is to develop, promote and exhibit Indian talent and leverage IT to bring about a new Indian era in the rapidly evolving international environment.
Highlighting Ganga Mission, 150 boys and girls from a Delhi school presented the sparkle of the river Ganga through their depiction Nirmal Ganga. The government has firmed up action plan for bringing back the pristine qualities of the Ganga with renewed efforts to clean the river.
