The CPI today urged the Union government to introspect over the Naxal situation in the country, a day after 25 CRPF men were killed in an ambush in Chhattisgarh.
"The government needs to do some serious introspection in the larger context and in a larger perspective. How and why it has been failing to handle the situation in Chhattisgarh. The government will have to do the introspection. There is an attempt to term the whole thing as Red Terror," party national secretary D Raja said here.
He said this is an issue which needs to be addressed by the government with "all seriousness" and objectivity without any pre-judged view or opinion on the situation that prevails in Chhattisgarh.
Yesterday, 25 CRPF jawans were killed by Naxalites while they were clearing roads for development works in Sukma district of Chhattisgarh.
