DIs of schools (Secondary Education) in all the 23 districts were also served the notice.

The department had directed the DIs to submit the reports within September 18, and failing which the showcause notice was issued.
"But no report was submitted that resulted in a gap to transmit the date to the concerned authority," a senior official of the department said.
"All the DIs have been directed to show-cause why the departmental proceedings will not be initiated against them for negligence in duty," he added.
DIs have been directed to submit their reply to the showcause letter by November 14, he added.
