As Congress continued protests over price rise, government today lashed out at the party, saying high inflation was a result of the policies pursued during the former UPA rule and the new dispensation was now trying to correct it.
"For the past ten years, Congress troubled the people while in power and now it is protesting on the streets when we have been in power for only a month now," Union Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad told reporters here.
He said the present situation has arisen because of Congress policies on "governance, economic management and national security" and "we are correcting it."
