The Commerce Ministry is also making preparations for allowing online filing of applications for various purposes by SEZ developers and units, an official statement today said adding this facility would be launched next month.
"The Department of Commerce has initiated an exercise for standardisation of procedures, harmonisation of rules, formats and fees, and is undertaking a review of the issues relating to Human Resource Management (both SEZ and Customs), vigilance mechanism, grievance redressal and its monitoring in all Zones," it said.
Earlier, the ministry has prescribed a time limit for disposal of various activities related to special economic zones to ensure smooth functioning and ease of doing business in SEZs.
