The Jammu and Kashmir government has initiated steps to make security forces vacate its offices, a rest house and a factory in militancy-hit Tral in Pulwama district.

Alternate arrangements for accommodation of security personnel have been made in Midoora-Tral. The matter has been taken up with security agencies concerned, Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed said in a written reply to a question by MLA Tral Mushtaq Ahmad Shah in the Assembly here today.

Security forces had been occupying offices of Roads and Buildings, Irrigation, Sericulture and Horticulture departments, a rest house and a jam factory since 1989.
