Govt team visits Chakkan-da-Bagh to identify site for FTBS

A technical team has visited LoC crossing point in Poonch district to identify the site for installation of Full Truck Body Scanners (FTBS) which will help in ensuring smooth flow of trade and transit between the two countries.

The team had conducted a survey of the area yesterday, an official spokesman said.

The team was accompanied by the District Development Commissioner of Poonch, M H Malik, the Additional Superintendent of Police Amit Gupta, Custodian of Chakkan-da-Bagh, Mohammad Ashraf Chowdhary, Executive Engineer PWD, Kabir Hussain Shah, he said.

A few central government employees also visited the area, the spokesman said, adding that after site inspection at TFC Chakkan-da-Bagh, the team interacted with some traders.
 

The installation of FTBS at the LoC trade point will facilitate easy and smooth flow of trade and transit for traders between the two countries, he said.

Traders between two sides of Jammu and Kashmir and the Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (PoK) have been travelling for trade as well as to meet the members of their divided families along the two LoC crossing points of Kaman Post via Uri-Muzaffarabad road in Kashmir and at Chakan-da-Bangh crossing point along Poonch-Rawalakote road for last several years.
