Govt thinking of Kolkata-Malda plane service: Alapan

West Bengal government principal secretary Transport Alapan Bandopadhay today said the state government is thinking about starting a plane service between Kolkata and Malda in future.

Bandopadhay held a meeting with Airports Authority of India (AAI) officials, PWD and Malda district officials to find about the feasibility of starting the plane service between Kolkata and Malda.

He also the visited the Malda Aerodrome accompanied by the AAI, PWD and district officials.

The principal secretary said a lot of studies need to be carried out before the plane service is started.

At present there is a weekly helicopter service between Kolkata and Malda.
