Union Minister for Social Justice and Empowerment Thaawar Chand Gehlot has said the Centre would bring amendments to the national policy for senior citizens.
A press release here said Gehlot announced this while participating at an event organised at Hyderabad recently.
The NDA Government was also committed to ensuring the safety and well being of senior citizens and it would come up with a policy to suit the present requirements, he added.
Participating in another event he assured that the Hyderabad-based National Institute for the Mentally Handicapped (NIMH) would be upgraded into a central university.
