Getting tough on political activities by student unions, Kerala government today informed the High Court that it proposes to bring in new amendments to control activities of student unions inside the campus.
Putting up flex sign boards and defacement of walls would be prohibited in the campus. If classes are disrupted due to strikes, college authorities could seek police assistance and campus and classrooms would be under CCTV surveillance.
The government stated this in response to a contempt petition by a student of Ernakulam Law college, Prakashan, who contended that it had not acted on his previous submission that classes are disrupted due to frequent strikes.
