Maken told a delegation of NCP leaders led by Ramvir Singh Bidhuri that the manner in which municipal corporations of Delhi were removing rehari, patri vendors and demolishing JJ clusters was totally unconstitutional and against norms.

"He said according to the norms laid down, people living in JJ clusters cannot be removed till they are provided with proper rehabilitation by the concerned civic agency," an NCP statement said.

The statement quoted Maken as saying that a legislation would be introduced during the Budget session of Parliament to grant right to lakhs of rehari, patri vendors and enable them to carry out their livelihood without any harassment by the various agencies.
