Noting that utmost care needs to be taken in treatment of children suffering from autism, Union minister Thaawarchand Gehlot today said the government would extend all required assistance to the National Trust in this regard.
"It is very difficult to distinguish a child suffering from autism (from a normal child) and that is why utmost care needs to be taken in their treatment. These children need love and affection from all persons and should not be treated differently," the Social Justice and Empowerment Minister said at a workshop here.
The training workshop on autism was organised by the National Trust, under the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, in collaboration with Child Neurology Division, Department of Pediatrics and AIIMS.

He assured all participants of cooperation from his ministry in this regard.
The aim of the workshop was to train and empower health care professionals like paediatricians, psychologists & psychiatrists to be trained as master trainers, who further train required number of professionals in their respective states.
Autism is a neuro-developmental disorder spanning entire life. There is no definitive cure. The effect of autism can be minimised by early diagnosis and with the right interventions.
