The government will award 23 scientists for their contributions in the field of geosciences.
"We are happy to announce the National Geosciences Award for the year 2013. The government will award 23 scientists for the contributions in this field," Steel and Mines Minister Narendra Singh Tomar told reporters here.
The awards will be given in eight categories like mineral discovery, discovery of fossil fuels, ground water exploration and mining technology among others.

The awards will be given away by President Pranab Mukherjee at a ceremony in Rashtrapati Bhawan on April 6.

HP bets big on mobility for enterprise growth * Computer maker HP is betting big on mobility to drive demand in the enterprise space in India as clients look at enhancing productivity and efficiency through tablets and laptops.
The US-based company today launched a slew of commercial mobility solutions, including tablets and ultrabooks, priced between Rs 22,000 and Rs 95,000.
"Mobility is driving growth (for devices) in the enterprise segment. One of the top two agendas for any CIO today is mobility and this will only grow higher," HP India Vice President and General Manager (PPS) Rajiv Srivastava said.
The demand is across industry segments like government, financial services, online and offline retail and education, he added.

IDSA elects Amway India's Rajat Banerji as its chairman
* Indian Direct Selling Association (IDSA) today said that Amway India National Head Corporate Affairs Rajat Banerji has been elected as its Chairman.
Apart from Banerji, several other office bearers as Vice Chairman, Treasurer and Secretary have also been elected in the new executive committee, IDSA said in a statement.
The newly elected members would serve for a one-year term, it further added.
