Govt to install filters in jails in UP

Uttar Pradesh government has sanctioned Rs one crore 82 lakh to provide filters for drinking water to the inmates of 28 jails, including Muzaffarnagar district jail, in the state.

The state jail administration has decided to provide filters which would be installed in 28 prisons and the inmates will have access to drinking water from these filters, Jail Superintendent Rakesh said.

Over six lakh has also been sanctioned for Muzaffarnagar jail in this regard, he said.
