Aiming to solve the problem of regularisation of unauthorised colonies in the national capital city, the Centre will prepare a draft policy on it in the next 15 days.

A concept paper will be prepared within 15 days after which Delhi government, in consultation with the Union Urban Development Ministry, would prepare an action plan on the regularisation issue, said a senior Urban Development Ministry official after a review meeting chaired by Urban Development and Housing Minister M Venkaiah Naidu here today.

Naidu reviewed various issues relating to urbanization and development of National Capital Region of Delhi with MPs from Delhi, Mayors and Chief Executives of municipal bodies including NDMC and Delhi Development Authority and senior officials of Delhi government and DMRC.

The official said there is a case for having a fresh look at regularization of all unauthorized colonies in Delhi as all unauthorised colonies would not be fully regularised in the existing guidelines as many colonies have come up since the earlier cut off-date 2007.

There are about 800 colonies awaiting regularisation nod from the government.
