Bihar government today announced to provide electricity free of cost in public areas during 'Chhath Puja', the most important festival in the state.

The decision to supply free electricity for Chhath Puja by the power utility service has been taken as part of its corporate social responsibility, H R Panday, Deputy General Manager (Public Relation) Bihar State Power (Holding) Company Limited said in a statement here.

The puja organising committees have been asked to provide details like quantum of power required and the places where it is going to be supplied, to the Executive Engineer of the concerned area, Pandey said.
