The Deputy Commissioner has asked officials to seal the offices of the land brokers in and around Srinagar following complaints against them, an official spokesman said.

The decision to seal their offices was taken yesterday as several complaints regarding sale of migrants' properties by certain land brokers were received, he said.

It has also been alleged that land brokers in connivance with unscrupulous elements, including some officials of revenue department, are changing the land use on either side of national highway and at other places.

Land brokers have also been directed to produce records of sale and purchase of property within two days which shall be scrutinised by the revenue authorities concerned and recommendations will be made to the Deputy Commissioner.

However, no action has been taken so far against the officials who have facilitated mutation of migrants' properties.
