The West Bengal government today decided to set up a holding company to bring all state corporations marketing different products under the MSME sector under a single umbrella.
Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee told reporters that the state cabinet took the decision to set up the company which would be named "Brand Bengal Marketing Corporation".
"With the launch of this company, the marketing of all the companies under MSME sector will be brought under one roof for a better market linkage and return worldwide benefitting the artisans and workers in the sector," Banerjee said.

Banerjee also said her government has decided to set up mega markets for farmers in all 18 districts of the state at a cost of Rs 150 crore for the benefit of farmers.
This would help farmers to come out of the clutches of middlemen, Banerjee said after the proposal was passed in the state cabinet.
The state cabinet also cleared allocation of Rs 492 crore for 'Kanyashee project' to be launched on October 1 this year to benefit the girl child, she said.
The Ramakrishna Mission has also been sanctioned a plot of five acres of land at New Town Rajarhat against payment of a token Rs 1 to set up a Centre for Human Excellence as existed in Chicago, USA, the Chief Minister said.
A tele-studio would also come up under Tele Academy at Baruipur near here to encourage young talents, Banerjee said.
