Govt to set up India innovations centre with states its member

The government is planning to set up an Indian innovation centre, where all states will be its members, Minister of State for Science and Technology Y S Chowdary said here today.

He also favoured the need to establish science city in every state.

Addressing a seminar on 'Innovation : the torchbearer of 21st Century' at the Vibrant Gujarat Summit 2015 in Gandhinagar, Chowdary said innovation can solve the problem of how to showcase a product in the market and how to reach the needful people.

He said while many scientists published many research papers, they do not get proper connectivity and network.
 

"...Through innovation we can promote women to enhance their productivity, farmers to take insurance for their health and crop, development of medical instruments and applications".

He said that his Ministry is committed to recognize the need of people and promote the innovations for them.
