Urban Development Secretary Sudhir Krishna said the government would prepare a draft plan in this regard in the next six weeks.

"Metro network is coming up in many parts of the country. Though not many components are being imported, we want all such things to be produced in India. We want domestic manufacturers to produce," he said, addressing the 18th Foundation Day Celebrations of the Delhi Metro.

"Indigenisation is very important. At least, the components should be manufactured in India," he said.

The official described the completion of Phase-II and launching of Phase-III as "a milestone" in the history of Delhi Metro.

He said the Delhi Metro would soon launch 300 more feeder buses and that Delhi government will also introduce smaller buses. PTI ETB
