Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed today said his government would compensate all those who lost their residential houses in the last year's floods.
"The government will compensate those people who lost their residential houses in the last year's floods. All those persons whose 'pacca' or 'kutcha' houses, which were partially or fully-damaged in the floods, will be compensated," he said.
The chief minister assured that he would not take rest till all the affected people were provided relief.

He was addressing a gathering after distributing cheques among victims of the floods which devastated the Valley in September last year.
Sayeed said the government is pursuing a comprehensive flood management plan with the Central government to initiate permanent protection measures from impending threat of floods.
"Dredging of rivers and flood channels and strengthening of river embankments has been prioritised so that threats from such calamities are reduced in future," he said.
Referring to the steps taken by the government to repair damaged infrastructure, in particular roads, schools, hospitals, filtration plants and power receiving stations, Sayeed said the government would soon begin permanent restoration of public infrastructural facilities.
