Government is working to resolve the call drop menace and there will be improvement in service quality of operators in coming days, Telecom Minister Manoj Sinha said today.

Terming call drop as a serious problem, Sinha said that the government was working to resolve it.

"There is improvement to some extent in this direction... there will improvement further in days to come", he told newspersons here.

When asked about the dispute between existing players and new entrant Reliance Jio reaching telecom regulator's door, the minister said TRAI is a regulatory authority and works independently and in an impartial manner.

The minister said that government will try to ensure that consumers get good services at reasonable prices.

Reliance Jio -- which commercially launched its services on September 5 -- has accused incumbent players of not releasing sufficient inter-connection ports and had sought legal action against them.

Trai last week held a meeting with sparring telecom operators and asked them to resolve the dispute without compromising on service quality.

COAI has accused the regulator of being biased and said various consultation papers, including review of inter-connect usage charge (IUC), issued by it can adversely impact business of incumbents and favours a new entrant.
