This was stated by Environment and Forest Minister Jayanthi Natarajan in reply to a question in Lok Sabha.
"A proposal for development of 8 lane Expressway from Greater Noida to Ballia was received from M/s Jaypee Ganga Infrastructure Corporation Limited for grant of Terms of Reference(ToR) for carrying out EIA studies under Environment Impact Assessment(EIA) Notification, 2006," she said.
"The proposal was returned as M/s Jaypee Ganga Infrastructure Corporation were the consultants. Whereas under the provisions of EIA Notification, 2006, the project proponent is required to submit the application for obtaining ToR/Environmental Clearance for the Project," she added.
