Press Trust of India Los Angeles
NBC network has given a straight-to-series order to Oscar-winning screenwriter Graham Moore's new untitled viral-outbreak drama.

The project, helmed by 'World War Z' director Marc Forster revolves around an outbreak that pushes its characters to extremes, revealing the best - and very worst - humanity has to offer, reported Aceshowbiz.

Outbreak refers to a sudden occurrence of something unwelcome, such as war or disease.

The drama reportedly starts when a woman exhibits mysterious symptoms, and she and her loved ones find themselves at the centre of an epidemic with global consequences.

Meanwhile, across the world, an FBI agent investigates a seemingly unrelated terrorist attack that leads him to the brink of madness.

Moore, who made his feature debut with "The Imitation Game", will executive produce and write the series, while Forster is on board as executive producer and director.

Nora Grossman and Ido Ostrowsky will also executive produce the series, with Jillian Kugler as co-executive producer.

The first season of the drama will consist of 10 episodes. The premiere date is yet to be announced.
