Gram, arhar rise Rs 600 on speculative buying

Select pulses led by gram and arhar prices surged by up to Rs 600 per quintal at the wholesale pulses market today on speculative buying against restricted supplies.

Traders said speculative buying against restricted supplies in the market mainly attributed to the rise in gram, arhar and other pulses.

In the national capital, gram shot up by Rs 600 to Rs 8,000-8,200 per quintal. Its dal local and best quality traded lower by a similar margin to Rs 8,400-8,600 and Rs 8,700-8,800 per quintal.

Kabuli gram small variety gained Rs 200 to Rs 9,100-9,500 per quintal.

Arhar and its dal dara variety also climbed by Rs 500 each to Rs 6,600 and Rs 9,300-11,000 per quintal, respectively.
 

Moong and its dal chilka local too moved up by Rs 500 each to Rs 5,400-5,900 and Rs 5,900-6,300 per quintal, respectively.

Its dal dhoya local and best quality enquired higher by the same margin to Rs 6,300-6,800 and Rs 6,800-7,000 per quintal.

Rajmah chitra traded higher by Rs 200 to Rs 5,500-6,450 per quintal.

Urad Rs 8,700-9,800, Urad Chilka (local) Rs 8,900-9,000, Urad best Rs 9,000-9,500, Dhoya Rs 9,400-9,700, Moong Rs 5,400-5,900, Dal Moong Chilka local Rs 5,900-6,300, Moong Dhoya local Rs 6,300-6,800 and best quality Rs 6,800-7,000.

Masoor small Rs 5,600-5,800, bold Rs 5,650-5,850, Dal Masoor local Rs 6,050-6,550, best quality Rs 6,150-6,650, Malka local Rs 6,800-7,100, best Rs 6,900-7,200, Moth Rs 4,400-4,800, Arhar Rs 6,600, Dal Arhar Dara Rs 9,300-11,000.
