Gram, arhar slide on muted demand

Weak conditions prevailed at the wholesale pulses market today as select pulses led by gram and arhar fell by upto Rs 200 per quintal on sluggish demand against sufficient stocks position on increased supply.

Traders said ample stocks position in the market following improved supplies from growing regions against low demand from retailers, mainly kept pressure on gram, arhar other pulses prices.

In the national capital, gram, gramdal local and best quality were down by Rs 200 each to Rs 7,400-7,600, Rs 8,200-8,500 and Rs 8,600-8,700 per quintal respectively.

Kabuli gram small variety followed suit and traded lower by a similar margin to Rs 9,000-9,500 per quintal.
 

Besan Shaktibhog and Rajdhani quoted lower at Rs 3,800 instead of Rs 4,000 per 35 kg bag.

Arhar and its dal dara variety fell by Rs 200 each to Rs 4,850 and Rs 6,700-8,500 per quintal respectively.

In line with overall trend, masoor small and bold shed Rs 50 each at Rs 4,900-5,000 and Rs 4,950-5100 per quintal. Its dal local and best quality traded lower by Rs 100 each to Rs 5300-5800 and Rs 5400-5,900 per quintal.

Malka local and best quality lost Rs 100 each at Rs 6100-6300 and Rs 6200-6400 per quintal.

Urad and its dal chilka local too declined by Rs 100 each to Rs 6100-7100 and Rs 6400-6500 per quintal. Its dal best quality and dhoya enquired lower by the same margin to Rs 6500-7000 and Rs 6,900-7,200 per quintal.
