Gram dal price soars by Rs 1,100, touches Rs 10,000

In one of the biggest rises in the recent times, prices of gram dal soared by Rs 1,100 per quintal in the wholesale foodgrains market during the week ended today.

After opening the week at Rs 9,000, an increase of Rs 100 over the previous close, grad dal saw a jump of Rs 1,000 per quintal today to settle at Rs 10,000.

Among the other commodities, wheat was marginally up by Rs 50 per quintal while moong dal decreased by Rs 100 per quintal.

Opening at the closing rate of Rs.2,800, price of wheat ruled steady till today before marginally going up by Rs.50 per quintal.
 

Moong dal was down by Rs.100 per quintal from Rs.8,900 on Monday and closed the week at the same rate.

Prices of thoor dal (Rs.13,500), urad dal (Rs.15,000), sugar (Rs.3,850), maida (90 kg) (Rs.2,600) and sooji (90 kg) (Rs.3200) ruled steady throughout the week.
