Gram and its dal prices rose by Rs 50 per quintal in an otherwise steady wholesale pulses market today on scattered demand from retailers.

However, other pulses traded in a narrow range in the absence of worthwhile activity and settled around previous levels.

Marketmen said apart from mild demand from retailers, restricted arrivals from producing regions mainly influenced gram and its dal prices.

In the national capital, gram, gramdal local and best quality were up by Rs 50 each to Rs 2,800-2,700, Rs 3,600-3,800 and Rs 3,700-3,800 per quintal respectively. Besin Shaktibhog and Rajdhani also quoted higher at Rs 1,440 instead of Rs 1,400 per 35 kg bag respectively.
