Gram, its dal extend losses, down Rs 500 per quintal

Gram and its dal prices plunged further by Rs 500 per quintal at the wholesale pulses market today on adequate stocks position on improved supplies against falling demand.

Kabli gram followed suit and ended lower.

However, moong and moth edged up on scattered demand.

Traders said apart from a fall in demand from retailers, ample stocks position on improved supplies in the market kept pressure on gram and its dal prices.

In the national capital, gram, gramdal local and best quality remained under selling pressure and lost another Rs 500 each to Rs 8,000-8,200, Rs 8,800-9,100 and Rs 9,200-9,300 per quintal, respectively.
 

Kabuli gram small variety followed suit and shed Rs 200 to Rs 9,300-9,800 per quintal.

Besan Shaktibhog and Rajdhani quoted lower at Rs 4,100 each instead of Rs 4,300 per 35 kg bag.

On the other hand, moong and its dal chilka moved up by Rs 100 each to Rs 5,300-5,500 and Rs 5,800-6,000 per quintal. Its dal dhoya local and best quality traded higher by a similar margin to Rs 6,400-6,900 and Rs 6,900-7,100 per quintal.

Moth also enquired higher by Rs 100 to Rs 3,600-4,000 per quintal.

Urad Rs 6,300-7,300, Urad Chilka (local) Rs 6,600-6,700, Urad best Rs 6,700-7,200, Dhoya Rs 7,100-7,400, Moong Rs 5,300-5,500, Dal Moong Chilka local Rs 5,800-6,000, Moong Dhoya local Rs 6,400-6,900 and best quality Rs 6,900-7,100.

Masoor small Rs 4,950-5,100, bold Rs 5,000-5,150, Dal Masoor local Rs 5,400-5,900, best quality Rs 5,500-6,000, Malka local Rs 6,200-6,400, best Rs 6,300-6,500, Moth Rs 3,600-4,000, Arhar Rs 5,050, Dal Arhar Dara Rs 6,900-8,700.

Gram Rs 8,000-8,200, Gram dal (local) Rs 8,800-9,100, best quality Rs 9,200-9,300, Besan (35 kg), Shakti Bhog Rs 4,100, Rajdhani Rs 4,100, Rajma Chitra Rs 6,500-9,000, Kabuli Gram small Rs 9,300-9,800, Dabra Rs 2,700-2,800, Imported Rs 4,700-5,100, Lobia Rs 5,400-5,600, Peas white Rs 2,500-2,525 and green Rs 2,700-2,800.
