Gram and its dal prices climbed by Rs 600 per quintal at the wholesale pulses market today largely driven by speculative buying activity.

However, other pulses moved in a narrow range on little doing and pegged around previous levels.

Traders said speculative buying, triggered by paucity of stocks against rising demand from retailers mainly led to steep rise in gram and dal prices.

In the national capital, gram, gramdal local and best quality climbed by Rs 600 each to Rs 10,500-10,700, Rs 10,700-11,000 and Rs 11,100-11,200 per quintal respectively.
