Gram, moth rise on buying by stockists

Prices of gram and moth firmed up to Rs 100 per quintal at the wholesale pulses market today on increased buying by stockists on the back of rising demand from retailers amid restricted supplies.

Traders said increased buying by stockists on the back of rising demand against restricted arrivals from producing belts mainly led to the rise in gram and moth prices.

In the national capital, gram rose by Rs 200 to Rs 3,450-4,250 per quintal. Its dal local and best quality was up by similar margin to Rs 4,100-4,300 and Rs 4,200-4,500 per quintal, respectively.

Besin Shaktibhog and Rajdhani were quoted higher at Rs 1,490 each instead of Rs 1,450 per 35 kg bag, respectively.
 

Moth also moved up by Rs 100 to Rs 5,700-6,000 per quintal.

Following are today's pulses rates (in Rs per quintal):

Urad 5,950-7,050, Urad Chilka (local) 7,400-7,600, best 7,600-8,200, Dhoya 8,000-8,400, Moong 7,000-8,000, Dal Moong Chilka local 7,900-8,400, Moong Dhoya local 7,900-8,200 and best quality 8,700-8,800.

Masoor small 5,900-6,100, bold 5,900-6,100, Dal Masoor local 6,800-6,900, best quality 6,900-7,000, Malka local 6,900-7,200, best 7,100-7,200, Moth 5,700-6,000, Arhar 5,050- 5,150, Dal Arhar Dara 6,400-6,700.

Gram 3,450-4,250, Gram Dal (local) 4,100-4,300, best quality 4,200-4,500, Besan (35 kg) Shakti bhog 1,490, Rajdhani 1,490, Rajmah Chitra 4,000-6,400, Kabli Gram small 4,000-6,200, dabra 2,700-2,800, imported 4,700-5,100, Lobia 4,800-5,200, Peas white 2,700-2,750 and green 2,800-2,900.
