Gram sevak held for accepting bribe in Maharashtra

A gram sevak, working in the gram panchayat office at Nagardevla village in Pachora tehsil of Jalgaon district was arrested today by sleuths of Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) for allegedly taking bribe of Rs 25,000 for an official favour.

Shaligram Sukdev Patil had demanded the bribe amount from the complainant for converting his mother's agricultural land as 'non-agricultural' (NA) and to obtain a NOC, ACB press release stated.

The complainant informed the ACB. Following which, a trap was laid this afternoon and the accused was caught red-handed while accepting bribe at his residence in Talathi colony at Pachora and was apprehended, it added.
