Prices of gram and urad dropped by up to Rs 300 per quintal at the wholesale pulses market Monday on the back of muted demand from dal mills and retailers against sufficient stocks position.
Traders said besides easing demand from dal mills as well as retailers, adequate stocks position on increased supplies from producing belts, pulled down gram and urad prices.
In the national capital, gram fell by Rs 200 to Rs 4,100-4,200, while its dal local and best quality plunged by Rs 300 each to Rs 4,300-4,700 and Rs 4,700-4,800 per quintal, respectively.
Urad also eased to Rs 3,850-4,800 against last close of Rs 4,000-5,100 per quintal. Its dal local chilka, best quality and dhoya were down by Rs 200 each to Rs 4,800-4,900, Rs 4,900-5,400 and Rs 5,350-5,550 per quintal, respectively.
