Gramin Cricket League will help in finding talent: Akhilesh

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav today said that an effort has been made through the Indian Gramin Cricket League (IGCL) to provide a platform to the unearthed talents of the rural areas.

"This league will provide a platform to the boys playing in the by lanes of towns and in the fields of villages and provide them an opportunity to move ahead in life," the chief minister said at the conclusion of the IGCL inaugurated at the Saifai mahotsav here.

The chief minister said that an inspiration has been taken in this regard from the IPL for starting the IGCL and it would be taken forward in future.
 

The aim of the Saifai mahotsav is to connect villages with cities and promote sports, folk art and craft and provide people involved in these works more exposure.

He reiterated that villages needed to be developed as the country cannot develop with out the progress of its rural areas.
