The Grand Finale of Smart India Hackathon (SIH) 2018 Hardware edition would be held from June 18-22, a statement from the IIT Kharagpur said here today.
The SIH2018 Hardware edition is the first of its kind initiative by the central government to provide a platform to young minds to showcase their innovations in sectors such as agriculture, health, clean water, waste management, etc.
This will be a five day-long event and take place simultaneously at 10 prestigious institutions (Nodal centres) across India with different themes.
The IIT KGP, with the theme of Drones, is one of the nodal centres, the statement said.
"The Smart India Hardware Hackathon is a unique large-scale end-to-end innovation initiative that takes a student through the entire gamut - from an idea to a startup - making it possible for any college student group to display their talent and make it blossom," IIT KGP Director and SIH2018 Chairman Prof Partha Pratim Chakrabarti said.
The event is being organised by MHRD, along with AICTE, IIT KGP and Persistent Systems, i4C.
