"MCGM has submitted revised cost proposals in March 2012 for BRIMSTOWAD totalling to Rs. 3884.61 crore, as against the original estimated cost of Rs 1200.53 crore," Urban Development Minister Kamal Nath told Rajya Sabha in response to a question.
"The revised proposal was examined and MCGM was asked to provide details such as the budget for meeting its cost, the plan for completing land acquisition and rehabilitation and plan of action for completing the project. MCGM has not furnished the required details," he added.
Giving more details, Nath said that for improvement of Storm Water Drainage in Mumbai including rehabilitation of old drainage lines and installation of new storm water pumping station, the Central Government had sanctioned Rs. 1200.53 Crore for the work components identified in the Detailed Project Report (DPR) submitted by MCGM.
So far, Rs 1000 crore has been released and Rs 904.35 crore has been utilised, Nath said.
