The district inspector of schools has a panacea to the pollution caused by crackers during Diwali: "Digital Diwali".

Speaking to reporters here today, the DIOS, PK Upadhyay, appealed to the students and parents to use "digital firecrackers".

Several parents and schools had given suggestion for "digital fireworks", Singh said, adding that it looked "practical", as it can substitute the joy of burning crackers virtually, thereby causing no air pollution.

One can experience the crackers digitally on mobile phone, laptops, and large screens. Malls, too, should display firecrackers digitally through sound and light technology.

This will make people enjoy the lighting and sound without causing air pollution, a director of an international school said.
