Residents of the satellite city had a mixed feeling on the day, as some felt the region has transformed a lot while other cribbed about lack of basic amenities.

GNIDA was constituted on January 28, 1991.

A week long foundation day celebrations, which saw a handicraft fair and cultural programmes, ended today.

"Today prize distribution was done by Additional Chief Executive Officer Harish Verma, and musical programme 'ragini' was held till 7 pm in which thousands of farmers participated and enjoyed," said GP Goswami, programme organiser and manager district industry centre.

Foreign students, studying at city colleges, adore the city infrastructure but feel the need for an international hostel facility, an official said.

"As one enters the Greater Noida through Expressway at Pari Chowk or from Dadri crossing landscape, green belt, wide roads, digital sign boards, temperature and pollution level of the city gives the appearance of a foreign city to the visitors," a resident said.

The authority boasts of fast track development and showcase the various proposed development projects such as Night Safari, transportation hub and Metro Rail project between Noida and Greater Noida to impress the investors.

Authority claims that their planning was such that infrastructure precede development in the city.

Some residents living in Greater Noida however feel disappointed as according to them authorities take interest only in new projects and ignore the basic civic amenities of the residents.

Industrialists too complain lack of proper amenities and services.

However, the Chief Executive Officer GNIDA felt otherwise.

"Authority planning is such that supply of basic amenities will always exceed demand at all stages of development. Besides attracting investment we are also holding regular meetings with residents to redress their grievances and get suggestions to improve the quality of life in the city," said Rama Raman CEO GNIDA.
