Greek authorities have arrested 13 people including six minors allegedly involved in riots in central Athens that injured four policemen, on the seventh anniversary of a teenager's fatal shooting by police.
A police statement said the suspects would be charged later Monday with offenses ranging from use of explosives to arson and breach of the peace.
The arrests followed hours of rioting by hundreds of youths who vandalized public and private property, and threw scores of petrol bombs at police. Officers responded with tear gas, which blended with smoke from burning rubbish to blanket a large residential area in noxious fumes.
The disturbances followed a march Sunday by anarchists over the 2008 shooting, which had sparked riots across Greece.
