Leading plywood manufacturer Greenply Industries has tied up with Aristech Surfaces for the marketing of acrylic solid surface sheets in the country.
"Greenply has entered into a trading arrangement with Aristech of US for the marketing of acrylic solid surface sheets in India," country head of Greenply Industries Subir Palit said.
Under the agreement, the Indian company would source the material and sell it in India, he said.
Till the business acquired a critical mass, such kind of an arrangement would continue, he told reporters here today.
The product has applications for interior decoration in airports, restaurants, hospitals, buildings, kitchen and bathrooms.
Paul Jones, MD of Aristech, said that the company was a leading producer of acrylic solid surface sheets and commanded a premium in the market.
The product would be marketed in India under the brand name Greenteriors which would be co-branded with Avonite, the name used by the US firm.
