Grenade found inside Manipur festival complex

A grenade has been found inside the complex where 'Sangai Manipur Tourism Festival' is being held in Imphal East district of Manipur, the police said today.

No detonator or remote control device was found with the grenade which was found inside the complex at Hapta Kangjeibung yesterday, the police said.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to attend the last day of the festival as the chief guest on November 30, official sources said.

Security measures have been tightened in Imphal city to prevent any untoward incident.

Thousands of people are flocking to watch the biggest tourism festival where delegates and participants from the country and neighbouring countries, including Myanmar, are showcasing cultural events and selling handicraft items.
