Groundnut oil drops on reduced demand, ample arrivals

Groundnut oil prices dropped at the Vashi oil and oilseed wholesale market here today on reduced demand from stockist and retailers amidst ample arrivals from producing regions.

However, refined palmolein recouped on renewed offtake from retailers.

Linseeds oil ruled steady in the absence of any worthwhile buying activity.

In the non-edible category, castorseeds bold and castor oil commercial surged further following consistent demand from shippers and soap industries.

In the edible segment, Groundnut oil fell by Rs 40 per 10kg to Rs 1,010 from Wednesday's closing level of Rs 1,050. However, refined palmolein moved up by Rs 2 per 10kg to Rs 435 as against Rs 433, yesterday.
 

In the non-edible, castorseed bold jumped by Rs 70 per 100kg to Rs 4,160 from Rs 4,090 and castoroil commercial rose by Rs 14 per 10kg to Rs 862 compared to Rs 848 previously. Linseed oil ended unchanged at Rs 770 per 10kg.
