Groundnut oil edges up on fresh buying

Groundnut oil prices rose by Rs 50 per quintal in an otherwise steady wholesale oils and oilseeds market today on increased buying by retailers.

However, other edible and non-edible oils moved in a tight range in limited deals and settled around previous levels.

Traders said fresh buying by retailers mainly led to the rise in groundnut oil prices.

In the national capital, groundnut mill delivery (Gujarat) went up by Rs 50 to Rs 8,150 per quintal.

Following are today's quotations (in Rs per quintal):

Oilseeds: Mustard seed 2,950-3,050 and Groundnut Seed 2,150-2,900.

Vanaspati Ghee (15-litre tin) 900-1,080.

Edible oils: Groundnut Mill Delivery (Gujarat) 8,150, Groundnut Solvent Refined (per tin) 1,350-1,400, Mustard expeller (Dadri) 7,900, Mustard Pakki Ghani (per tin) 1,250- 1,300, Mustard Kachi Ghani (per tin) 1,300-1,400, sesame mill delivery 7,800, Soyabean Refined Mill Delivery (Indore) 6,650, Soyabean Degum (Kandla) 6,350, Crude Palm Oil (Ex-Kandla) 4,150, Cottonseed Mill Delivery (Haryana) 5,650, Palmolein (RBD) 5,800, Palmolein (Kandla) 5,600 and Coconut (per tin) 2,550-2,600.
 

Non-edible oils: Linseed 8,150, Castor 9,650-9,750, Neem 5,350-5,450.
