Groundnut oil firms up on seasonal demand

Groundnut oil prices firmed up further at the Vashi oils and oilseeds wholesale market here on sustained demand from stockists and retailers on good seasonal demand amid weak supply from producing regions.

On the other hand, refined palmolein remained soft on poor domestic buying support.

In the non-edible section, castorseed bold and castor oil commercial strengthened on the back of renewed uptick from shippers and soap manufacturers.

Linseed oil maintained a stable trend in the absence of any worthwhile buying from consuming industries.

Turning to edible segment, Groundnut oil rose by Rs 5 per 10 kg to Rs 850 from overnight closing level of Rs 845, while refined palmolein eased by a Re per kg to Rs 478 as compared to Rs 479.
 

Moving to non-edible section, castorseeds bold climbed by Rs 40 to Rs 4,165 per 100 kg as compared to Tuesday's closing level of Rs 4,125 and castor oil commercial edged higher by Rs 8 per 10 kg to Rs 863 from Rs 855 previously.

Linseed oil, however, closed unaltered at Rs 750 per 10 kg.
