Groundnut oil rises on stockists, local buying

Groundnut oil prices firmed up by Rs 200 per quintal in an otherwise steady wholesale oils and oilseeds market today following upsurge in demand against tight supplies from producing belts.

However, other edible and non-edible oils moved in a narrow range in limited deals and settled around previous levels.

Traders said pick up in demand from retailers amid restricted supplies from producing belts mainly pushed up groundnut oil prices.

In the national capital, groundnut mill delivery (Gujarat) oil shot up by Rs 200 to Rs 8,700 per quintal.

Following are today's quotations (in Rs per quintal):

Oilseeds: Mustard seed Rs 2,950-3,050 and Groundnut Seed Rs 2,150-2,900. Vanaspati Ghee (15-litre tin) Rs 930-1,070.
 

Edible oils: Groundnut Mill Delivery (Gujarat) Rs 8,700, Groundnut Solvent Refined (per tin) Rs 1,400-1,450, Mustard expeller (Dadri) Rs 7,550, Mustard Pakki Ghani (per tin) Rs 1,250-1,300, Mustard Kachi Ghani (per tin) Rs 1,300-1,400, sesame mill delivery Rs 7,450, Soyabean Refined Mill Delivery (Indore) Rs 6,700, Soyabean Degum (Kandla) Rs 6,400, Crude Palm Oil (Ex-Kandla) Rs 4,200, Cottonseed Mill Delivery (Haryana) Rs 5,700, Palmolein (RBD) Rs 5,700, Palmolein (Kandla) Rs 5,550 and Coconut (per tin) Rs 2,350-2,400.

Non-edible oils: Linseed Rs 8,350, Castor Rs 9,650-9,750, Neem Rs 5,350-5,450.
