In restricted activity, groundnut oil prices shot up by Rs 200 per quintal at the wholesale oils and oilseeds market today on the back of pick-up in retailers demand.
However, other edible and non-edible oils moved in a narrow range in limited deals and settled around previous levels.
Traders said besides pick-up in demand from retailers, restricted supplies from producing regions mainly pushed up groundnut oil prices.
