Groundnut oil surges on renewed demand

Refined palmolein edged up on good retail demand.

Meanwhile, in non-edible segment castorseeds bold and castor oil commerical declined due to subdued demand from shippers and soap manfucturers.

In futures, castorseeds eased further in a moderate speculative trade following lower export enquiries.

In the edible segment, Groundnut oil spurted by Rs 1O per 10 kg to Rs 1,220 from Monday's closing level of Rs 1,210. Refined palmolein inched up by a rupee to Rs 615 per 10 kg as against Rs 614.

Moving to non-edible segment, castorseeds bold slipped by Rs 25 per 100 kg to Rs 3,900 from Rs 3,925 and Castoroil commercial also fell by Rs 5 to Rs 810 per 10 kg from Rs 815. Linseed oil ruled unchanged at 845 per 10 kg.

 

Turning to futures, castorseeds for the Sept contract opened lower at Rs 4,230 and moved in a range of Rs 4,265 and Rs 4,205 before ending at Rs 4,250 as against Rs 4,265 yesterday, showing a modest loss of Rs 15 per tonne.
