Groundnut oil surges on steady demand

Groundnut oil surged further at the Vashi oils and oilseeds wholesale market due to steady demand from stockists and retailers amid lower arrivals from producing regions.

Refined palmolein also gained following good retail buying support.

In the non-edible section, castorseed bold and castor oil commercial recovered slightly on mild offtake from shippers and soap industries.

Linseed oil rose on moderate demand from paint and allied industries.

In the edible segment, groundnut oil hardened by Rs 10 per 10 kg to Rs 990 from Wednesday's closing level of Rs 980 and refined palmolein advanced by Rs 4 per 10 kg to Rs 532 from Rs 528.
 

Moving to non-edible segment, castorseeds bold moved up by Rs 10 per 100 kg to Rs 4,350 from overnight close of Rs 4,340 and castor oil commercial edged up by Rs 2 per 10 kg to Rs 900 as compared to Rs 898 previously.

Linseed oil also went up by Rs 5 per kg to Rs 765 from 760 yesterday.
